FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Good Thursday morning & Happy Independence Day!

Today is starting off on a dry note, but it is still warm & humid. Some areas of patchy fog are developing for places north of I-70. Going into the rest of the holiday, temperatures will return to seasonable numbers with storms & showers returning as well.

The rest of the morning will remain on the cloudy side, but temperatures will still find their way to the 80s by the afternoon. Fog will gradually lift for areas that have seen it. Going into the afternoon, a few isolated showers will push in from the west ahead of the main round that we have coming this evening.

A boundary is draped across Central Ohio that will funnel in moisture throughout the day. Showers will develop by the afternoon. For the evening, a cluster of storms will roll in from the west. Modelling continues to show that areas south of I-70 have the best chance of seeing more of the rain. There is a 1/5 risk of severe weather for areas to our south.

Temperatures today are on their way to the mid 80s. For Friday, numbers will be very similar with more chances for storms as a cold front moves through. That leaves clear and dry weather for the weekend. Temperatures will be in the lower 80s for Saturday and back in the mid 80s for Sunday.

Warmer weather returns for the start of next week. Chances for rain and isolated storms build for the middle of next week.
