0

The Mill Valley Little League Juniors team compiled a 5-1 record to claim its first District 3 title since 2013. The team begins Section 1 Tournament play in Walnut Creek on Friday.

Mill Valley outscored opponents 61-28 en route to the title with an 11-10 loss to Gallinas Valley as the lone blemish.

Mill Valley bounced back from that defeat with an 18-5 win against West Marin, during which six different players (Colton Zinn, Hudson Williams, Will Weir, Roberto Santo Domingo, Liam Garlick, and Bradley Marshall) had two or more RBIs.

The team’s final game was a 10-3 win against Ross Valley. Raymond Cao had a team-high three RBIs in that game and Alexander Radics drove in a pair of runs. Cao, Radics, Williams, Weir, and Nico Rocherolle all had two hits for Mill Valley.

9-10s

The top four teams in the 9-10s District 3 playoffs all advanced to Friday’s semifinals following wins on Tuesday.

Top-seeded Twin Cities got two hits and two RBIs from Brooks Revell in a 13-6 win against San Rafael. Twin Cities (7-0) faces Novato South (6-2) at 10 a.m. Friday at Strawberry.

Novato South got 4.1 scoreless innings from Xavier Eaton, who struck out nine in a 3-0 win against West Marin. Novato South won despite being held to two hits — both off the bat of Dante Benedetti.

Friday’s late semifinal — set for 1:30 p.m. at Strawberry — sees second seeded Mill Valley (6-1) clash with No. 3 Novato North (6-1).

Jonas Jackson had two hits, three RBIs, and scored twice to lead Mill Valley to a 9-4 win against San Francisco American. Jasper Persson added three hits and Paxton King had two hits and scored twice.

Novato North rolled to an 11-0, four-inning victory against Tiburon Peninsula.

Baseball

The San Rafael Pacifics put together a seven-run fourth inning to roll to a 13-4 road win at Dublin on Tuesday night.

John Bicos drove in a game-high three runs and was one of four Pacifics players with three hits in the game — joining Esai Santos, Aki Buckson, and Braxton King. Buckson hit his seventh home run of the season.

Starting pitcher Owen Cuffe scattered 10 hits over eight innings of work, striking out eight batters.

The Pacifics (23-11 Pecos League) were set to face the Leprechauns (14-21) again on Wednesday before heading home for a 1 p.m. start against Martinez on Thursday.
