Buffalo man accused of shooting 3 on Elmwood Avenue arrested in Maryland
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A Buffalo man accused of shooting three people in early June on Elmwood Avenue was recently taken into custody in Maryland and arraigned Wednesday, the Erie County District Attorney's Office announced.
Dominique Singletary, 29, is accused of shooting three men in their early 20s with an illegal weapon during an altercation around 2:30 a.m. June 1 on the 1100 block of Elmwood, officials said. The three victims were taken to ECMC, with one suffering serious physical injuries and the others suffering non-life-threatening injuries.
The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force recently located Singletary in Maryland and he was eventually arrested on an indictment warrant, according to officials. He was returned to Western New York on Tuesday after waiving extradition proceedings.
Singletary was charged with:
- Three counts of second-degree attempted murder
- Two counts of second-degree assault
- One count of first-degree assault
- One count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
Singletary was held without bail and a return court date has not yet been scheduled. He faces a maximum of 75 years in prison. Additionally, temporary orders of protection were issued on behalf of the victims.
