A BRIDE has faced every future wife’s nightmare — a closed venue right before the ceremony.

She said the business left a note on the door, but she was determined to find the silver lining in her wedding woe.

Redditor Useful_weight_7715 recounted the blunder in a post on the social media platform.

“This took place years ago, but I think it’s worth sharing,” she said.

“When I was engaged, selecting a venue was easy because I always knew I would have my reception at the same place my parents did.

“It was a long-standing area restaurant with a banquet room where we celebrated every major event for years.”

She added that she and her now-husband ate at the venue two weeks before the celebration to confirm the details.

Things took a turn a mere four days before the big day when she tried to finalize seating arrangements with no response from the venue.

The radio silence gave the bride-to-be a bad feeling, so she drove to check out the place in person.

“The parking lot was empty and there was a small note on the door saying that they were closed permanently,” she said.

“I had a small meltdown and started making calls.

“Not only did I have to find a new venue, but I needed to find a bakery that would do my cake since my wedding venue contract included the cake.”

PULLING OFF A LAST-MINUTE WEDDING

Determined to solve the problem, The Redditor said she was able to create a new plan for her big day.

With the help of her sister-in-law, she was able to find two new vendors who empathized with her predicament.

“I notified all the guests and had a beautiful wedding that actually came in at a lower cost than my original,” she said.

Others hoping to use the venue for their wedding weren’t as lucky as this particular bride.

“I read that an entire wedding party showed up the day after mine to find the restaurant closed,” she said.

“I am so glad I found out soon enough to save the reception.

“I also was fortunate to have charged the deposits on a credit card and got a full refund when I disputed the charges.

“We’ll be celebrating our anniversary soon and can now laugh about our reception that almost didn’t happen.”

Several Redditors chimed in with their own experiences of wedding woes.

“[Something] similar happened to me a week out from my wedding,” one wrote.

“We only found out as the florist had heard something. Thankfully another venue came to the rescue at a great price and did an amazing job.”
