BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Buffalo Music Monthly makes its return to WIVB.com this month in a new form. Rather than a weekly feature of one local band or artist, the series will now serve as a preview for upcoming releases in Western New York.

Amateur Hockey Club

Amateur Hockey Club will be releasing a new single on July 5, titled "Coexistence." This is AHC's second release this year, following the single "Love Each Other a Little," a re-imagining of the title track off their first EP.

"Coexistence" is the band's seventh single. The song is comprised of a fast-paced, upbeat melody reminiscent of other AHC singles, and is sure to have audiences moving their feet and banging their heads. The song tells of the difficulties of having a broken friendship and coexisting in the world with an ex-friend.

The band is set to mark its first show following the release on July 12, joining OFF THE WALL! and Uncovered at Rec Room for a "When We Were Warped" show.

Anthony Casuccio

Anthony Casuccio recently released his latest single, "Life Goes On," which was inspired by the death of his mother and his feelings in the time after.

The singer-songwriter, who has also been nominated for multiple Grammy awards for his audio production work, has seen success in Europe with the single. Casuccio's lyrics are heartfelt and emotional, chronicling his best memories with his mother, his struggles living without her and coming to terms with moving on.

The release show for the single will be held at 8 p.m. on Sept. 6 at Rob's Playhouse Theater and will be streamed in Europe. The show will kick off Casuccio's tour -- his first tour fronting a band -- and will benefit Villa Maria College's music department.

Stress Dolls

Stress Dolls released its debut album through Sun Pedal Recordings, "Queen of No," in May. Chelsea O'Donnell -- the woman behind Stress Dolls, which both her solo act and her band are named -- spoke with WIVB about the record's lead single "Body" last June.

"Queen of No" allows O'Donnell's powerful vocals to wear the crown, while also allowing the instrumentals to shine through. Of the standout instrumentals, Sally Schaefer's violin on "Ghostwriter," is particularly impeccable. The album has great pacing to it and the group encapsulates the '90s alternative sound well, while keeping their sound unique to the band.

Though the band's release show for the album has already taken place, Stress Dolls will be playing support for Honeycrush along with Dogs in Stereo on July 19 at The 9th Ward at Babeville.
