_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms will be capable of becoming severe within two
different main areas today. From the southern High Plains of
New Mexico north to central Kansas and into far southern
North Dakota and extreme southeastern Montana, storms may
bring large hail, strong winds and perhaps a tornado.
Farther east, storms from western New York to Ohio may
contain a somewhat greater tornado threat, with additional
severe risk stretching through southern Missouri. South and
east of there, another day of pop-up thunderstorms may be
expected from the coastal Texas-Louisiana border east along
the Gulf coast and into the Florida Peninsula. Monsoon
storms will also rebuild in parts of Arizona and New Mexico,
with a mainly dry day for both coasts as extreme heat builds
in the Southwest.
