FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Happy Wednesday!

It's a big day for Central Ohio, with Red, White & BOOM! set for this evening. Unfortunately, we do have some weather to keep an eye on as the event approaches.

Watch: Live coverage for Red, White, and BOOM!

First off, it is much more humid out, and the temps are really rising. As a result, we have a Heat Advisory taking effect at noon today, with "feels-like" temps approaching the triple digits. Make sure you're staying hydrated, wearing light colors & loose clothing, and taking breaks in the shade.

Then, as we get close to the late-afternoon/evening timeframe, scattered storms start to roll in. Storm chances do increase later in the evening, but they will be scattered, so it will be strongly dependent on exactly where each individual storm sets up. We will be watching it closely.

The Storm Prediction Center does have Columbus under a 2-out-of-5 risk of strong to severe storms, with lightning, gusty winds, and localized heavy rain being the primary threats.

Stay weather aware by downloading the Storm Team 4 mobile weather app, where we'll keep you posted throughout the day.

Unfortunately, storm activity becomes more widespread Thursday afternoon, for the 4th of July holiday.

Storms linger into Friday, before eventually clearing up into the weekend.
