Expo mast furler question

I recently bought an Expo and after getting it home noticed that at some point a previous owner must have sourced a replacement mast from an Escape boat, likely the Rumba. They both use the same SmartRig system, so I guess it fits on the boat fine. My question is regarding the position of the furling box. Mine sits just below flush with the deck, maybe a few mm below. Is it normal to sit that low for the stock expo mast? It's hard to find pictures, especially of the older expos, but Rumbas...
