Netflix bonkbuster Bridgerton swamped with wannabe stars sending x-rated video auditions to show bosses after season 3
REGENCY romp Bridgerton has such a reputation for sex scenes that bosses are now receiving X-rated applications from wannabe cast members.
After the end of the Netflix hit’s third and steamiest season, actors have started to send videos to producers for their chance to star in the next episodes.
Bridgerton viewers have apparently been spurred on by recent explicit sex scenes between Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington, played by Luke Newton, 31, and Nicola Coughlan, 37.
Casting agent Kelly Valentine Henry says she has been swamped with “audition videos” which are closer to porn movies than period drama.
She said on interview podcast Should I Delete That: “I spent a good hour going through my emails yesterday because I was at 90 per cent capacity.
“That happens every day — I get sent the most unbelievable videos, unsolicited.
“It’s sex basically, it’s not actual sex but it’s quite punchy.
“Also, not nude pictures, but not far off.”
Others go for more kinky options, including one woman who sent an image of herself wrapped in plastic.
Kelly said: “Someone sent it in, you know, the banners that you put on scaffolding, they have huge eyelets on them? Heavy duty plastic.”
If Netflix continue to adapt the original Bridgerton books by Julia Quinn, season four is set to feature a storyline with new character Sophie Beckett.
She’s the illegitimate daughter of an earl who catches the eye of another of the Bridgerton brothers, Benedict, and ends up at the centre of a Cinderella-style storyline.
Kelly added: “Everybody wants to be Sophie, who is a major lead in Bridgerton.
“We’ve obviously not done her yet.”
