FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Good Tuesday afternoon!

It's another great day in Central Ohio! Skies will remain mainly sunny, but temperatures will see a big bump today. As we head into Red, White, & BOOM! and July 4th, chances for rain will return to our area.

Southerly flow will continue to push our temperatures back above average today. Numbers will climb into the upper 80s and even the lower 90s for a few of us. Humidity will make a slight increase as well, but not enough to make it feel unbearable outside.

Through the rest of tonight, skies will remain dry with a few passing clouds. Temperatures will stay mild to warm overnight with the thermometer only falling to the lower 70s. Starting off Wednesday, there likely won't be any trouble from the weather. Temperatures will continue to climb to the mid to lower 90s and humidity will be much higher.

Chances for rain on Wednesday will start to build by the afternoon. A cold front will bring in better chances as we head into the late afternoon and evening. Scattered showers and storms will develop more to our east and farther south, but Central Ohio is still in line to see wet weather. Closer to midnight, most of the rain will begin to dry up.

There is the potential to see some strong to severe weather for Wednesday. A 2/5 level risk remains for the Columbus metro area and southwest along I-71. The rest of Central Ohio remains at a 1/5 risk. The primary threat will be strong to damaging winds. Lower end threats include large hail and an isolated tornado possible with stronger storms.

July 4th still maintains an outlook of scattered showers and storms. Temperatures will be in the mid 80s for the holiday. Going into the weekend, skies gradually dry out for a nicer setup by Saturday and Sunday. Rain and slightly warmer weather returns for next week.
