Trains delayed after tree falls on subway tracks in the Bronx: MTA
THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A fallen tree on the subway tracks at the Baychester Avenue station in the Bronx is causing delays to the number 5 line, according to the MTA.
Service between East 180th Street and Eastchester-Dyre Avenue has been temporarily suspended until the tree is removed from the tracks.
Passengers should expect delays in both directions and are encouraged to use nearby 2 train stations for alternate service. Passengers can connect to the 2 stations with the following bus routes:
- Eastchester-Dyre Avenue: Take Bx16 buses to/from Nereid Avenue
- Baychester Avenue: Take Bx30 buses to/from Gun Hill Road on the 2
- Gun Hill Road: Take Bx28 buses to/from Gun Hill Road on the 2
- Pelham Parkway and Morris Park: Take Bx12 and Bx12-SBS buses to/from Pelham Pkwy on the 2
Riders can also take the 4 trains for alternate service between 149th Street-Grand Concourse and Bowling Green.
