Traffic stop leads to illegal gun possession arrest in Albany
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Albany man was arrested after a traffic stop on Monday near Central Avenue and Quail Street. Jaquan Mott, 27, faces multiple charges.
On Monday, patrols from the Albany County Sheriff's Office pulled a car over near Central Avenue and Quail Street after witnessing a traffic observation. Deputies say an investigation led to the finding of a loaded Hi-Point 9mm semi-automatic firearm that he didn't have the right to possess. Deputies also say Mott was driving while impaired by drugs.

- Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
- Driving while ability impaired by drugs
- Traffic violations
Mott was taken to the Albany County Correctional Facility as a pre-arraign detainee. He will be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on Tuesday.
