BLPC: Power restored to 20,000 customers
Almost 20,000 customers had their electricity restored by Barbados Light & Power Co. Ltd on Monday.
A notice said teams on-site and in the field have been able to safely restore about nine feeders.
A feeder is a group of 2,000 or more customers that are fed by the same electrical wire from one of our substations.
Areas which had their power restored include:
- Wildey, Banks, and Bay Street, St Michael
- Arch Hall, St Thomas
- A section of Holder’s Hill, St James
- Bath Village, St John
- Sandy Lane and Holetown, St James
- Providence, Christ Church
There may still be some localized outages in these areas, which the crews will be addressing shortly, Light & Power said. The company is also working to restore power in other areas. (SAT)
