Popular Apple TV+ comedy quietly axed after two series – leaving fans on a cliffhanger
A POPULAR comedy series has been shelved after two series in a move set to leave fans devastated.
Streaming service Apple TV+ has decided there is to be no more instalments of The Big Door Prize.

But now the show has come to an end and won’t be back for a third series leaving fans on a major cliffhanger, Deadline reports.
Based on the book by David West Read, Chris plays leading character Dusty Hubbard, the typical family man that eventually begins to doubt his own happiness when evaluating the lives of those around him.
His life is further tested on the show as part of the main premise.
In the small town of Deerfield, a mystery machine appears in the local store which promises to unveil the true potential of each of the town’s inhabitants.
However, Dusty remains rather wary of the machine and is stunned by everyone around him have a fascination with the device.
His wife, Cass, played by actress Gabrielle Dennis, becomes convinced that the machine will lead her to finding her true purpose in life as she becomes set on achieving something more.
The cast are yet to make any official word on the show’s surprise axing.
In a further blow to fans, they will be left forever wondering what happened next after the second series finished on a major cliffhanger.
Fans were left fuming over the decision as they blasted Apple TV+ for their decision in a slew of furious comments.
One wrote: “Who the f*** thought cancelling The Big Door Prize was a good idea????????”
A second said: “The Big Door Prize has been cancelled by #Apple. Shame, it was a fantastic show.”
Someone else penned: “Just here to say The Big Door Prize was one of the best shows of the past 20 years and cancelling it is a tragedy. Apple, you suck butts.”
Before a fourth added: “Cancelling a show like TheBigDoorPrize on a huge cliffhanger is the s****iest of s****y streamer moves.
“Really a major blow, @AppleTV. Makes me not wanna start a series anymore until it’s fully done. Just disheartening.”
As a fifth insisted: “Oh do f*** off @AppleTV, BigDoorPrize was one of the highlights of my week.”
