BCCI Announces Rs 125 Crore As Prize Money For Rohit Sharma's Triumphant T20 World Cup-Winning Indian Team

New Delhi: The Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a whopping prize money of Rs 125 crores to the triumphant Indian cricket team for winning the T20 World Cup 2024, secretary Jay Shah said on Sunday. India defeated South Africa by seven runs in Barbados on Saturday to lift the T20 World Cup for the second time. The first time India won the T20 World Cup was in 2007. The win also ended India’s 11-year Trophy drought.

“I am pleased to announce prize money of INR 125 Crores for Team India for winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The team has showcased exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Congratulations to all the players, coaches, and support staff for this outstanding achievement!” Shah posted on ‘X’.

Notably, Shah, along with other top BCCI office bearers were with the Indian team for the T20 World Cup in USA and the Caribbean.
