Saturday Essay: Justice denied from Palestinian perspective

The letter by Peter Silverman titled “Israel’s success means defeating its enemies,” June 16, requires a dose of reality and history. Historical facts were ignored, distorted, and misrepresented to portray the state of Israel as a victim. We reject the slanderous accusation that advocates of Palestinian human rights are “proudly Pro-Hamas” or are “Islamists, anarchists, Marxists, critical interventionalists, and radical progressives.” Using incendiary Islamophobic terms like “jihadist,” “fanatical Islamist,” or “caliphate” to circulate a false narrative in our revered local newspaper only reflects a moral decline in the attitude of that author.
