She told The Sun at the time: “Two marriages, an engagement, two long-term relationships later and I will not be getting married again. I’ve made the decision.”
But now Shirley has confirmed she and Danny are very much still together and in love.
When quizzed on her relationship status, the dancer rubbished the rumours to The Mirror.
She said: “Danny and I are still together contrary to anything you might read. Who knows [if we’ll get married].”
Shirley, 63, married her dance partner Sammy Stopford, now 67, in 1978 when she was 18, but they separated five years later.
She then wed American dancer Corky Ballas, 63, in 1985, who she had her son Mark with, but they divorced in 2007.
The telly star met Danny, 50, while taking part in a pantomime and previously said she was eager to tie the knot for a third time.
When she’s not spending time with her toyboy, Shirley is either dancing, coaching or judging on Strictly.
Last year Shirley released her debut novel called Murder On The Dance Floor.
