Along with Krusty the Clown, Troy McClure was one of the few celebrities who resided in Springfield and lent the town some Hollywood star power. Troy was a prolific actor during his heyday in the 1970s when he starred in numerous B-movie knockoffs that can still be seen on Springfield TV during rainy afternoons. But scandal drove Troy out of Tinseltown when his "romantic abnormality" (i.e. a romantic infatuation with fish) was discovered.
