Police seek answers after woman's body found at east Columbus construction site
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Weeks after police identified the victim of a shooting on the far east side of Columbus, police continue to ask for the public’s assistance.
According to a recent incident report, investigators are still attempting to obtain additional information regarding the death of Danyaze Evans-Kourouma, who was shot and killed near the intersection of Noe-Bixby Road and Carbondale Drive.
On April 25, officers responded to the Walnut Hills neighborhood on reports of a suspicious death near a construction site at 2:05 p.m. Evans-Kourouma was found by workers in the area, and she was pronounced dead at 2:18 p.m. by the Columbus Fire Department.
An autopsy was performed the following day, and it was determined that the victim had suffered from a gunshot wound resulting in her death, although the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unknown.
Evans-Kourouma, 33, was officially identified on May 10 after next of kin was notified. She went by “Dany” and was known to frequent the area of Lilley Avenue, Berkeley Road and East Livingston Avenue.
