But they needed a last-gasp leveller by Niclas Fullkrug to snatch a draw against Switzerland.

They topped their group and now play Denmark, who almost gave England a scare.

Germany have been tipped as ones to watch after their eye-catching start to the tournament.

Jamal Musiala, Ilkay Gundogan and Kai Havertz have all made a bright start to the Euros.

Meanwhile, Denmark struggled for goals during the group stage but were defensively solid.

The game will be played at Borussia Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park stadium, famed for its daunting atmosphere.

Germany will undoubtedly go into the clash as favourites but Denmark have shown giant killing potential before.

Only three years ago they got to the semis – while Germany crashed out at this very stage.

What is their form like?

After Germany’s flying start in the opening two matches, they looked to be unstoppable.

But they were brought back down to earth after needing Fullkrug’s header to avoid defeat to Switzerland.

Denmark have proved stubborn in the group stages – holding England to a 1-1 draw – and will make Germany work for everything through the 90 minutes.

What is the team news and any injuries to worry about?

Germany have suffered somewhat of an injury crisis with Antonio Rudiger suffering a hamstring injury and Jonathan Tah suspended.

It means Nico Schlotterbeck is likely to come in with Robin Koch and Waldemar Anton vying to partner him.

Denmark are set to head into the clash injury free with the pick of their bunch with no suspensions.

Who will be the star men?

Musiala has been one of the players of the tournament so far with two goals in three games.

Havertz has led the line well while Fullkrug has proven to be a threat off the pitch.

For Denmark, Kasper Schmeichel and Christian Eriksen have proven to be key for Kasper Hjulmand’s side.
