Police investigate armed watch thefts at New York City restaurants

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Police are searching for suspects in connection to robberies at restaurants in Brooklyn and Manhattan in May and June.

Police say suspects in each incident displayed a firearm to the victims.

The first robbery happened on Friday, May 31, at around 6:47 p.m. in front of 81 Broadway in Brooklyn.

An unknown individual approached two men, showed a firearm and demanded their watches, police said. He took their property and fled on a two-wheeled vehicle with another individual.

The second incident occurred in front of 181 Thompson Street in Manhattan at around 8:46 p.m. on June 18. Police say a man in front of the location was approached by two individuals who displayed a firearm and demanded his watch. They took the victim's watch and fled.

The third incident happened at a restaurant on Grand Street in Brooklyn on June 21. At around 9:35 p.m., three diners were approached by two individuals demanding property, according to the NYPD.

The suspects took a watch and two phones and fled, police said. The phones were tracked and recovered nearby.

No arrests have been made. Investigations into the robberies are ongoing.
