Mariners Moose Tracks, 6/28/24: Cole Young, Noelvi Marté, and Spencer Turnbull
Friday links!
Good morning, foLLks, and happy Friday! After an off day yesterday, the M’s are getting ready to kick off their next homestand tonight, but we have a new batch of links ahead of that.
In Mariners news:
- Mariners top prospect Cole Young was pulled from the game in Double-A Arkansas last night, and we still don’t have a clear reason. Per Ryan Divish, though, he was neither traded nor lifted due to a medical issue.
- J.P. Crawford and Ryan Bliss were in attendance for the Storm’s victory over Indiana last night!
- A few players visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during the team’s stop in Cleveland.

Around the league:
- Noelvi Marté has fully served his 80-game suspension for PEDs, and was activated by the Reds yesterday. He returned with a bang, going 3-for-5 with a double and RBI as Cincinnati beat the Cardinals 11-4.
- How are things going in Anaheim?
I can’t believe this is a real quote from Ron Washington:

“Early in the year, Schanuel wasn’t playing in day games because he had trouble waking up in the day time. And so I sat him down a couple times in day games, and now he wakes up at the day time.”

- Former Mariner Matt Boyd signed a big league deal with the Guardians. The lefty has not pitched in the bigs since early last season.
- Phillies righty Spencer Turnbull will miss six to eight weeks with a lat strain, per Alex Coffey.
