Tristan Jarry is reportedly on the trading block. Should the Penguins move on from the goalie? Will they?

When it was announced last week that the Pittsburgh Penguins had agreed to terms on a new two-year deal with goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic it didn’t take long for fans to wonder if this was a sign the Tristan Jarry era in Pittsburgh was perhaps coming to and end.

Early indications from those covering the team suggested that Nedeljkovic was resigning as the backup goalie with Tristan Jarry still the top option in net. Over the last week though, those winds seemed to have shifted and Jarry’s future in Pittsburgh looks to be in some real doubt.

Elliotte Friedman lit the fires surrounding Jarry earlier this week on his “32 Thoughts” podcast with Jeff Marek, speculating that the Penguins goaltender was going to be available for trade. Friedman further fanned the flames when he went on a radio show following the Detroit Red Wings curiously opening up cap space.

They say where there is smoke there is fire and that certainly sems to be the case surrounding Jarry at this moment with the NHL Draft and free agency imminent.

Josh Yohe kept the rumor mill churning in his latest mailbag over at The Athletic on Thursday, dumping his own can of gasoline on the fire by seemingly confirming all that had been reported by Friedman earlier in the week.

Per The Athletic:

From everything I’ve heard in recent days, the Pittsburgh Penguins are certainly willing to trade Tristan Jarry. I think it’s all about finding a trade partner at this point. Maybe they will, maybe they won’t. The guy has talent, but I believe a trade would be the best thing for him and the best thing for the Penguins.

It only takes one team to make it happen.

That all leads us to this week’s poll. There will be two questions for readers to answer this week to help gauge where the fan base sits in regards to a potential Jarry trade and whether or not it’s a good idea for the team.

First, where do you stand on the idea of trading Tristan Jarry?

Second, do you believe the Penguins will ultimately trade Jarry this offseason?
