Major Channel 5 star eyeing up a spot on Strictly Come Dancing after being shunned from reality TV shows

A TOP Channel 5 star has admitted that she has her eye on a spot on the Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor.

The TV star would be in good stead for the hit BBC show too thanks to her co-star and close pal Jeremy Vine already having had a stint on the dancefloor.

Storm Huntley, who hosts her own Channel 5 morning series, has revealed she would love the chance to take part in the hit competition series after admitting she had never been asked to participate in any reality TV show.

The star has been a regular face on Channel 5 for 10 years but has just marked the one year anniversary of her self-titled programme after finally stepping out on her own.

Now, she is keen to make her mark elsewhere with a spot on Strictly in her eyeline.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun on the set of her live show, Storm confessed that she was yet to be asked to take part in any major reality shows after being ‘left out’ of the showbiz circuit.

But with her star power rising, she revealed: “I would love to do Strictly.

“Jeremy [Vine] has done it so I feel like it is my turn next.”

Storm continued: “I mean, who would pass up the chance to learn how to dance properly?”

She then laughed off the suggestion of getting him to help her perfect her steps after his mediocre skills on the show.

Storm added: “I would maybe call Karen [Hauer, Strictly pro] up before I ask Jeremy for tips.

“Jeremy is an absolute performer so I am sure he would have some helpful advice.”

Elsewhere, Storm opened up on not being a part of the gltiz and glam of the showbiz world amid her work obligations and being a parent to her son, Otis, two.

The star told us: “I don’t live a very showbizzy lifestyle.

“My routine is get up, do the show, go home, be a mum, go to bed,  get up, do the same routine. I don’t really go to any showbizzy events.

“I’ve never been invited to these kind of events. I’ve never made a decision consciously or  unconsciously about it.

“If anyone wants to invite me to a glamorous do, I’m quite happy to  get dressed up and join you if I can get the day care!”

Storm discovered she was being handed her own show when she informed Channel 5 bosses of her pregnancy three years ago.

It allowed her to hit back at claims that women’s careers are over when they become a mum after she confessed to never being busier work-wise after welcoming her son.

It has added its challenges though with Storm revealing that mum life is just as much ‘work’ as her day job.

The TV beauty said: “The mum job is so much harder than this job.

“This job is so easy, I’ve realised, in comparison to the being a mum job.

“I think if you have a partner that is taking on half the domestic  responsibilities, it is far easier to continue a career, and hopefully as  time goes by, that’ll just be the norm.”

Storm Huntley airs every weekday on Channel 5 from 11:15am.
