Who was Lizzy Musi?

Lizzy gained fame as she starred on Discovery Channel show The Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings.

Raised in North Carolina, she grew up around racetracks as the daughter of Pat Musi, a renowned engine builder and “doorslammer” – drag racing in full-body sedans.

Lizzy followed in her father’s footsteps and soared up the drag-racing ranks.

In 2014, she was the first woman to break the 200mph barrier in eighth-mile racing in a 3.802 second run.

Her achievements on the track made her an inspirational figure for budding female drivers.

When did Lizzy Musi die?

Tragically, Lizzy lost her life on June 27.

Her dad Pat confirmed her passing in a Facebook statement.

He said: “Surrounded by her family, in the comfort of her own home, Lizzy was called to heaven at 11:25 pm tonight.

“Thank you for all the prayers and support throughout her battle.

“At this time, the family would like to have time to process, grief and make arrangements in peace.

“We will give an update as soon as we have information to share.”

How did Lizzy Musi die?

Lizzy died aged 33 after a battle with breast cancer.

She was hit with a stage 4 triple-negative diagnosis, one of the most aggressive types.

Sadly, the cancer spread to her lymph nodes and liver.

Lizzy was open about her battle with the horror disease throughout.

She told of how she flew to Germany for specialist treatment in June 2024.

Lizzy revealed her diagnosis in 2023, forcing her to step back from The Street Outlaws show.

She announced the diagnosis on her YouTube channel sitting alongside now ex-fiancé Kye Kelley.

Lizzy said she’d noticed a growing lump in her breast sometime between December 2022 and January 2023.

Following her passing, fans shared their heartbreak on social media.

One said: “This just hurts my heart.

“She was such an inspiration to young girls. I loved watching her race.”

Her positive, happy personality was such an inspiration for younger generations.
