I charged my mates £30 a head to come to my party – it’s pay-per-access, but they do get a slap-up meal

A WOMAN has revealed how she charged her friends £30 per head to have the privilege to come to her party.

Rosa Lizbeth decided to have a lavish party with a slap-up meal with her friends after finding out her partner cheated on her before their wedding day.

Naturally Rosa was heartbroken but instead of wallowing in her sadness she decided to throw a big party.

The pair were meant to marry this August but after discovering her partner was allegedly cheating has decided to have a “non-wedding party” instead.

Not only did she discover her partner was cheating on her with somebody they both knew, she also lost her job and had to move out of the house the pair shared together.

Rosa – who had already paid deposits for the upcoming nuptials – has decided not to cancel the event and make some money back in the process.

“I had already covered 80% of the value of the wedding and I was the one who paid the vast majority,” Rosa told What’s The Jam.

“But that didn’t make it any easier. “I had been living with him for eight years and in a relationship for another three on top.

“I thought about what to do and I came up with three options.

“The first was to sell the entire event with a discount so that a couple could buy it from me.

“The second was to pay the remainder of the event and make my 30th birthday party that will be in October, start from August, and have the party then.

“And the third was to have a non-wedding party!” After considering her choices, Rosa went with option number three.

With her Birthday coming up as well and no job to fall back on, Rosa decided to use what she had planned for the wedding to celebrate.

To ensure she didn’t spend anymore money she’s asked her friends to chip in for the even.

The party is set to take place on 3 August from 9am to 2pm with a four-course meal, an open bar and live band.

The maximum amount of people allowed is 100.

Is it okay to charge your friends?

Fabulous reporter Leanne Hall shares her thoughts on charging friends for a party.

Typically, if I’m throwing a party and want it to go exactly how I want – I consider myself in charge of paying for it.

Whether that’s bring the booze or preparing food, I wouldn’t expect my friends to chip in.

However, when it comes to going out for a birthday, you typically expect to cover the costs of your meal and drinks at the restaurant – not the birthday girl.

In Rosa’s case, it seems like she has been through it as of recent, and I think any good friend would be more than happy to chip in and pay for their meal and entertainment at her party.

Not only will it take the stress off of her financially, but it’ll also surround her with love, something she probably needs at the moment.

Rosa has sold tickets to the ‘non-wedding’ – to be held at Las Pampas Eventos, Monterrey, Mexico – at £30 a pop.

She added: “It will be my son and I, plus the 100 guests. “I am still having a party.”

It just goes to prove that a relationship ending isn’t the end of the world and you can always make the best out of a terrible situation.
