NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms with flash flooding and localized damaging
wind gusts will rumble in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa,
eastern Nebraska, northeastern Kansas, northern Missouri and
northern Illinois today. Spotty thunderstorms are expected
in the Southeast and along the Gulf coast, although they
may be a bit more numerous in the central and eastern
Florida Peninsula during the afternoon. An area of morning
showers in southwestern Colorado will evolve into storms in
the afternoon. Late-afternoon thunderstorms will dot the
landscape as far east as the Nebraska Panhandle as well as
northwestern Kansas. Much of northern and central Montana
can expect showers on the southern side of a storm swirling
through southern Canada. Expansive heat will bake areas from
southern Kansas to the desert Southwest.
