Periodic hot weather and a few rounds of storms ahead
What We’re Tracking
- A few storms overnight
- Hot, sunny for Friday
- Friday night storms cool the weekend down
A few passing showers or storms are possible overnight. While the storms could be stronger to the west, they should be weakening a bit as the move across Northeast Kansas after midnight. After the storms pass through, the sky will clear back out for the tail end of the night with a low in the upper 60s.
We heat up again Friday into the middle 90s with a heat index well above 100°. With a chance for a few strong to severe storms rolling through Friday night along a front, we should cool back for the weekend. Highs in the 80s for both Saturday and Sunday.
After the weekend break from the heat, temperatures ramp back up. Highs by Tuesday of next week soar near 100° yet again so enjoy the weekend of cooler temperatures. We're still eyeing a front that might try to move toward the area with a few storms by the middle of next week.
