The promising coach is viewed as stylistically similar to first team boss Pep Guardiola.

Reiss has worked in various roles at Hertha for 17 years.

But he could now depart in order to take the next step in his coaching career.

According to the Mail, talks have taken place between City and Reiss’ camp.

Reiss’ most recent role at Hertha was Under-19s boss, a position he took up in 2022.

Mikel Arteta and Enzo Maresca are among those to have worked on City’s backroom staff since Guardiola’s Etihad arrival in 2016.

While Erik ten Hag served as Bayern Munich‘s reserves boss during the Spaniard’s Bundesliga stint.

City’s Under-18s have been managed by Ben Wilkinson in recent seasons.

Wilkinson, 37, is the son of former England caretaker and Leeds boss Howard.

He succeeded Carlos Vicens in the job, after the Spaniard won a national title.

Vicens, 41, was promoted to Guardiola’s first team staff in 2021 following his success at youth level.

Meanwhile, Arteta left Guardiola’s backroom team for Arsenal in 2019, while Maresca departed for Leicester in the summer of 2023, before landing the Chelsea job earlier this summer.
