Crews repairing storm damage on Lake George islands

LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Crews are still working to resolve storm damage from Thursday, June 20, and Friday, June 21, across a 15-mile stretch of Lake George islands. Camping sites on Narrow Island and Glen Island were closed through Wednesday while responders cleared trees and repaired docks.

The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) says three facilities were damaged. Prospected Mountain damages included a tree that also took down power lines owned by National Grid. Heavy fog caused Prospect Mountain to close Friday and Saturday until National Grid could make necessary repairs. It was reopened on Sunday at its normal time.

The DEC says day-use facilities on Lake George Island and campsites in Glen Island and Narrow Island Campgrounds were affected. Reservations for camping were closed up until Wednesday for repairs.
