Bands make noise of the melodic kind in lead-up to the 4th of July

The Fourth of July week festivities are more than just bottle rockets and snaps. It’s about the nation’s birthday, and while it's fun to listen to pops and bangs and watch fireworks blossom in the sky, it’s also about big brass bands that thunder some John Philip Sousa marches and other tunes that put a melody to patriotism.
