A MUM-TO-BE has left people gasping with her enormous bump ahead of welcoming twins into the world.

Emma took to social media to show off her blossoming figure at 36 weeks pregnant, revealing she had just a week to go until her scheduled C-section.

In a video on TikTok, Emma explained: “I cannot believe I have made it this far.

“I have reached maximum capacity.”

Lifting up her top to show off her stomach, she insisted it “can’t take any more growing”.

“I am so excited,” she said.

“I’ve got a week to go and I get to meet my boys and be relieved of all of this pain.

“If I’m honest, this has been the hardest thing I have ever, ever done in my life.”

While she insisted she is “proud” of herself for “getting this far”, Emma added that she’s “also just like, let’s just get this over and done with because I’m really just exhausted”.

“I cannot stand up for more than like three minutes at a time,” she sighed.

“I can’t shower on my own. I’m so tired.

“I barely leave the couch anymore.

“So I’m ready to be a mum to my four-year-old and my twins again, and to be able to get out and go for a walk and enjoy the fresh air and just have my body back!”

“Can you believe we are at 36 weeks?” Emma captioned her video.

And the comments section was almost immediately filled with people expressing their shock and admiration over Emma’s changing figure.

“Absolute legend!” one wrote.

“So close now. I had my twins at 37 weeks and man my body was pushed to it’s limits!!!

“I felt like I was broken, 6.7 & 6.9 pounds.

“Sending so much love!”

What is the 'baby bump theory'?

Can the gender of an unborn baby really be determined by the bump?

Popular theory suggests a baby’s gender can be revealed by the shape of the mother’s bump.

For years, it has been claimed that the way a woman carries their unborn child can predict whether it is a girl or a boy.

If followed, the theory suggests the baby will be a boy if the bump is high and at the front. A lower, more spread out bump is said to indicate a girl.

But this really is just an old wives’ tale.

In reality, the only way of finding out the sex of an unborn baby is through medical screening.

This can be done several ways – via an ultrasound, a chromosomal blood test or through a CVS/ amniocentesis.

“Super mum!!!!” another said.

“I had my girls are 35 weeks and by then I was fried!!!!

“I’m just shy of 5 feet tall and there was nothing left!”

“I’m exhausted and I’m not even pregnant,” a third joked.

“You are a superwoman!” someone else said.

“Wow! Women are just amazing creatures!” another commented.

“There is no exhaustion like a multiple pregnancy whilst caring for toddlers, I can confirm it’s so good when they’re out!” someone else wrote.

Emma’s pregnancy’s a high risk one, as her twins are dichorionic diamniotic (DiDi).

That means that they each have their own placentas and their own amniotic sacs, which is why it’s a lower risk pregnancy than other twin ones, but still a higher risk than a single pregnancy.

To ensure that the pregnancy progressed safely, Emma had to give herself Clexane injections, which thin the blood to reduce the risk of clotting.

She welcomed twin boys safely into the world at 37 weeks, and her bump is now almost gone – with just some “excess swelling” following the C-section.
