ANGEL and Dick Strawbridge have DOUBLED their earnings since Escape To The Chateau was axed by Channel 4 – and have over £4 million in the bank.
The much-loved TV show, which followed the pair and their family renovate the 19th-century Château de la Motte-Husson, wrapped up in 2022.
Escape to the Chateau had nine successful series over six years.
Despite the programme getting axed, the couple have been racking in the cash.
The latest accounts filed at Companies House have revealed that they have a staggering four million quid sat in the bank as ready cash.
The pair have made the most of their fame in the last eight years by starting up a number of companies.
They have five firms between them – for their media work Chateau Television Ltd and Chateau Publishing Ltd, retail is Tshirt Patisserie Ltd and for overall business it’s DA2AD Ltd, which is run by accountants but owned by themselves.
Richard solely owns Jera Enterprises Ltd.
Latest figures show hefty bank balances of £1,143,679, £133,770, £739,158, £2,247,113, and £54,610 respectively over the firms.
This comes to a grand total of £4,318,330.
After paying off creditors – including debts among the group of firms – they’ve still got overall reserves of £2,210,092.
They have their own website and social media channels, where they are raking in a fortune from their books, DVDs, clothes and may more.
Meanwhile the pair are about to embark on a UK-wide tour in October and November going up and down the country.
Their popularity has proved to last despite getting the boot after a leaked recording exposed Angel’s behaviour towards a producer, which she branded a “f***ed up little c***”.
Following the explicit rant Channel 4 bosses announced they were cutting ties with the pair.
However, they returned to the channel with Dick and Angel’s Secret France earlier this month.
Who are Dick and Angel Strawbridge?
The TV couple shot to fame in 2016 when their series Escape to the Chateau launched on Channel 4.
Running for nine series, it followed Dick and Angel as they renovated their 19th century French mansion.
They have two children together, Arthur and Dorothy, who featured in the show
It quickly became a fan-favourite show of the schedule as millions tuned in to see the couple tackle each corner of their 45-bedroom chateau.
Escape to the Chateau came to a natural end in October 2022 by mutual agreement between Channel 4 and Dick and Angel.
Despite the broadcaster and the pair working together on other projects, they were axed from the channel following a recording leaking appearing to capture Angel in a foul-mouthed exchange with a producer.
The series went beyond their 19th century mansion as they explored the side of France that few tourists see.
An insider said: “Dick and Angel had filmed this series before the damming recording of Angel was leaked last year.
“Despite cutting ties with the Strawbridges, it was always the intention that execs would broadcast the show at a later date.
“Channel 4 have pulled back on publicising the series and haven’t changed their position on working with Dick and Angel in the future after their internal review was completed.”
