‘Perfect for these hot summer days’ hail McDonald’s customers after trying new ‘10/10’ iced drink

MCDONALD’S has launched a new iced drink and fans have said it’s “perfect” for summer.

The Oreo Frappe hit all restaurants in the UK and Ireland yesterday and foodies have been quick to give it a go.

The new drink costs £3.09 for a regular, and a large costs £3.39.

The frappe contains the usual vanilla base blended with ice and Oreo pieces.

It is then topped with more Oreo pieces and cream.

If you want to give the new drink a go you’ll need to be quick because it’s only around until September 3.

Maccies fans were thrilled to hear the sweet treat was being added to menus when Sun Money exclusively revealed the launch.

Now foodies have been rushing to their nearest branch to give it a go.

Posting on the Food Finds UK Facebook group one shared a photo of the frappe.

They said: “THE NEW OREO FRAPPÉ IS FINALLY HERE!!! A SOLID 10/10…”

The post was met with more than 450 comments from eager Maccies customers.

One said: “It’s so nice perfect for these hot summer days. I had it today.”

Another wrote: “I am going to try it on Friday and getting a large one.”

A third commented: “I need this in my life as a matter of absolute urgency!”

A fourth posted: “Omg that looks banging. We must try!”

While a fifth said: “I’ll be having one on the way home.”

“No flipping way I need it,” another commented.

And while a new menu option is always welcome, it’s bad news for Biscoff Frappe lovers.

The Oreo Frappe has replaced the Biscoff Frappe, which has been a huge hit with fans.

Some Maccies customers aren’t convinced the new addition can live up to its predecessor.

One said: “Biscoff is that absolute GOAT though.”

Another posted: “Biscoff one is better.”

“Can’t beat the Biscoff though,” a third wrote.

What else is on the McDonald’s summer menu?

McDonald’s introduced a new summer menu on Wednesday, May 29.

The fast food giant added eight new items to its main offering, including returning favourites.

Among the range is the brand new Hat Trick burger and a new McFlurry.

The burger features three beef patties, two slices of cheese, grilled onions, mustard, and ketchup on a glazed sesame seed bun.

The Hat Trick is £5.89, but you can upgrade to a meal with medium fries and a drink for £7.69.

The Skittles McFlurry is a soft dairy ice cream swirled with chewy Skittles fudge pieces and sugary pearls, topped with a purple Skittles-flavoured sauce.

For those who prefer a warm dessert, the Galaxy Chocolate and Raspberry Pie (£1.99) has also been introduced.

We gave the entire summer menu a try when it first launched so if you’re keen to give any items a go, have a look at our video.

The fast-food chain ditched its ‘3 for £3’ deal across its UK and Ireland stores earlier this month.

Under the offer, Maccies fans were able to choose three popular dishes and pay just £3 for the lot – meaning each item cost just £1 each.

We’ve asked the fast food chain if it plans to bring back the offer in the near future.

McDonald’s regularly shakes up its menu offering to give foodies a chance to try new and returning items.

If you want to try any of these additions, don’t wait – they will only be on menus for six weeks.

By our estimation fans can expect the next round of summer items on July 10.

How do I find my nearest McDonald’s?

If you’re planning on taking a trip to McDonald’s, you’ll want to know where your nearest branch is.

The chain has a restaurant locator tool on its website you can use to find your nearest one – and check what time it opens.

Bear in mind that McDonald’s serves breakfast every day until 11am.

After that, the menu switches to the normal menu serving meals such as burgers, chicken nuggets and more.

How to save money at McDonald’s

You could end up being charged more for a McDonald’s meal based solely on the McDonald’s restaurant you choose.

Research by The Sun found a Big Mac meal can be up to 30p cheaper at restaurants just two miles apart from each other.

But you can pick up a Big Mac and fries for just £2.99 by filling in a feedback survey found on any old McDonald’s receipt.

The receipt should come with a 12-digit code which you can enter into the Food for Thought website alongside your submitted survey.

You’ll then receive a five-digit code which is your voucher for the £2.99 offer.

Make sure you check out all the various apps and platforms if you’re ordering McDonald’s to your home too.
