Jaylon Tyson, who starred at Cal Berkeley as a junior, got selected 20th in the 2024 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Tyson averaged 19.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists for Cal. He was named to the 2023-24 All-Pac-12 team and a Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year finalist.

In Cleveland, Tyson will play for former Warriors assistant coach Kenny Atkinson, who agreed to a five-year contract to lead the Cavaliers, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

A Texas native, Tyson began his college career first at Texas before transferring to Texas Tech and later Cal.

The 6-foot-6 wing ranked third in the Pac-12 in scoring and became the first Cal player since 1997 to put together six consecutive games of at least 20 points.

Tyson is the first Bear to be selected in the first round since Jaylen Brown in 2016.
