Guy Park Manor lifted as restoration continues
AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Plans to preserve an historic building in Amsterdam has taken a step forward. The Guy Park Manor in Amsterdam was lifted nearly four feet last week.
The building's first floor is now seven feet above the 100-year flood elevation to protect it from the nearby Erie Canal and Mohawk River.
Crews will now put in a new foundation, flood vents and new doors and windows. Officials plan to turn it into an environmental educational facility.
