FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Storm Team 4 is tracking the development of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. The Storm Prediction Center has most of the area in a slight risk (level 2/5) for severe weather.
The primary threat with these storms will be for strong wind gusts. Some large hail is also a possibility. Heavy rain at times may cause ponding on roadways.
The most likely time that these storms will fire up will be during the evening commute. Until that point, showers will be off and on. Temperatures will reach the low 80s, while humidity levels remain fairly sticky.
Overnight conditions are expected to be much calmer after showers and storms move east of the region after sunset. Skies will become partly cloudy. Temperatures will fall to the low 60s by early Thursday, as winds shift to the northwest, and cooler drier air moves in.
Thursday looks fantastic, with partly sunny skies and relatively low humidity.
A warming trend will start off the weekend. Another round of showers and storms on Saturday ahead of a cold front will give way to cooler and drier conditions by Sunday afternoon.
