'I don't know who my dad is': Lauren Boebert launches victory pity party
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) celebrated her Republican primary win with supporters and some family members, although she noted the lifelong absence of one relative.
The 37-year-old Boebert defeated five GOP contenders after switching to Colorado's 4th congressional district, and she wore a MAGA hat autographed by Donald Trump and knockoff Trump sneakers as she joked about the lack of a father figure in her life, reported The Independent.
“Just because I don’t know who my dad is,” Boebert quipped, as she mingled for hours with fans instead of being whisked away by aides after her win was announced.
“She’s got ‘it’,” said one Boebert campaign staffer. “I mean, you see it every time she gets up and talks to people. No one is telling her to say this. She’s speaking from the heart.”

Boebert's mother and one of her sons, although not her son Tyler, who's facing felony charges for trespassing and property thefts, joined the congresswoman at the party.
"We're just very excited," Boebert's mother Shawna Bentz, told Westword. "This shows how she just keeps moving forward no matter what is thrown at her."
Boebert changed out of the state's 3rd congressional district to avoid a bruising general election challenge from Democrat Adam Frisch, who she narrowly defeated in 2022, and since her move has gotten divorced and then kicked out of a performance of the "Beetlejuice" musical for getting handsy with a male companion and vaping.
“The theater stuff was bad,” one campaign official said. “But you saw that afterwards, she showed voters she was contrite. She knew she had messed up.”
