The Spanish film got less publicity because of this, but recently it has left Netflix users abuzz.

Fans have taken to social media to share their harrowing experiences with the terrifying flick, with many admitting they had to turn it off due to its intense scare factor.

One viewer shared, “Started watching Veronica on Netflix (huge REC fan so interested in anything Paco Plaza is involved in) but the demon walking down the hallway scene freaked me out so much I had to turn it off…”

Another admitted: “Umm just watched the Spanish horror movie on Netflix Veronica and I legit almost cried [because] it’s so scary, holy s**t.

“That was a well done possession movie. Never sleeping again.”

The film centers around a teenage girl named Verónica who begins to experience terrifying supernatural occurrences after using a Ouija board during a solar eclipse.

While attempting to reach out to her dead dad alongside some friends, the girl accidentally summons something more sinister.

Set in Madrid in 1991, the story follows Verónica as she tries to protect her younger siblings from the malevolent forces that invade their home.

The chilling plot is inspired by the real-life Vallecas case, where a young girl reportedly died under mysterious circumstances after using an Ouija board.

Even the Spanish cops confirmed that they experienced paranormal activity in the Gutierrez family house.

Police reports revealed that officers witnessed a wardrobe door swinging violently with no one touching it, saw a Jesus figurine that was torn off a cross, and heard recurring loud noises with no clear source.

If you think you can handle the fear, this film is waiting for you on Netflix. Just be prepared to leave the lights on.
