WHEN it comes to replenishing our wardrobes, chances are you’ll be running straight to the likes of Zara.

But there’s a reason that supermarket clothing has been garnering an increasing amount of praise online in recent months – with fashion fans branding Tesco‘s F&F summer collection “10/10.”

In the clip, a fashionista who posts under the acronym @pixiemaiboutique, begins by trying on a white and brown embroidered shirt, which costs £22.50, and matching shorts with scalloped hem.

Next up, she slips into a pair of chic 100% linen white shorts which retail at £19.50 and matching £22.50 waistcoat from F&F’s Edit collection.

But it’s the cream crochet dress, which features a side slit detail, that’s sent fashion fans into a frenzy, with the fashionista calling it “gorj.”

Also amongst the bargain high-street buys on offer include a stylish grey waistcoat dress and striped beige and black waistcoat and shorts co-ord.

And if you’re looking to add a pop of colour in your wardrobe, then you’re in luck…because there’s plenty to choose from.

The fashion whizz shows off a bold green floaty dress that’s perfect for summer, along with a super flattering blue co-ord.

Alongside the post, she penned: “WHAT I PICKED UP IN @fandfclothing THIS WEEK.

Love the shirt and shorts white and gold. Neeeed!

“The linen, the waistcoats, the crochet… obsessed. Which outfit was your favourite?”

And the fashion guru wasn’t short on answers, with the post racking up thousands of views and comments from social media users up and down the country.

Zara who?” one person quipped.

The fashion fan replied: “Say it louder for those in the back!!”

A second told how their favourite piece from the haul was the crochet dress, with the fashionista branded it “gorj,” followed by a love heart eye emoji.

Is supermarket fashion the new high street?

DEPUTY Fashion Editor Abby McHale weighs in:

The supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, as you head in to do your weekly food shop you can also pick up a selection of purse-friendly, stylish pieces for all the family.

Tesco has just announced a 0.7 per cent increase in the quarter thanks to a ‘strong growth in clothing’ and M&S has earnt the title of the number one destination for womenswear on the high street.

Asda’s clothing line George has made £1.5 million for the supermarket in 2023, 80 per cent of Sainsbury’s clothes sold at full price rather than discounted and Nutmeg at Morrisons sales are also up 2 per cent in the past year.

So what is it about supermarket fashion that is becoming so successful?

Apart from the clothing actually being affordable, it’s good quality too – with many being part of schemes such as the Better Cotton Initiative.

A lot of the time they keep to classic pieces that they know will last the customer year after year.

Plus because they buy so much stock they can turn around pieces quickly and buy for cheaper because of the volumes.

A third praised: “Love the shirt and shorts white and gold. Neeeed!”

Meanwhile, a fourth added: “Love them all!”

And one more chimed in: “All 10/10.”
