Pink Tajinastes of La Palma

Found in the subalpine zone, high on the island, these biennial plants stand out majestically when at full bloom. They're shown here along a roadside at dawn. In the distant background (at right), framed between Canary Island pine  trees (Pinus canariensis), is the peak of Mount Teide on the neighboring island of Tenerife. Photo taken on April 27, 2024.
