Chris will be Flexen on the mound tonight and maybe dodgering lightning strikes

Happy Tuesday, White Sox friends, and happy Chris Flexen day.

With last night’s shutout loss, complete with rain delay, a remarkable yet fruitless Garrett Crochet start, and trade rumors galore, White Sox fans may feel like the vultures are circling above their heads. Well folks, the good news is that they changed our local forecast at the last moment, and there’s not likely to be another rain delay for tonight’s game.

If only we had more good news to share.

Here’s your lineup:

Chris Flexen (2-6, 5.03 ERA) brings his four seamer to try to take his first win since May 8, but the blame falls on the bullpen for his record. If you blocked his last good start against the Astros out of your memory, here’s a refresher:

If not for the lousy White Sox bullpen, Flexen would have at least one more recorded win.

The bad guys line ’em up thusly:

Elk Grove Village’s own Bobby Miller (1-1, 6.00 ERA) takes the mound for the Dodgers, having only had one start under his belt since April due to a shoulder injury.

No one knows if the White Sox bullpen will throw tonight’s game in the trash, but if the red-hot Dodgers have their way, they’ll try for a repeat of last night.

See you at 7:10 p.m. CST on NBC Sports Chicago, or tune into AM 1000 to spare yourself from being shouted at to stand up.
