Judge considering if ex-gang leader held in Tupac Shakur killing gets house arrest on $750K bail
A Nevada judge says she'll review financial documents before deciding if a former Los Angeles-area gang leader will be freed from jail on $750,000 bail ahead of his murder trial in the 1996 killing of hip-hop music legend Tupac Shakur. Duane “Keffe D” Davis wants to be released to house arrest ahead of trial in November. The question is whether funds for Davis’ release were obtained legally and don't hinge on a television or movie deal. A hip-hop producer, Cash Jones, who is also known as “Wack 100,” testified Tuesday by internet video that he paid the 15% needed to secure Davis' release. Davis has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder. Davis' trial is scheduled Nov. 4.
