On Monday, Taneytown Police Department received a call from concerned citizen Brian Wood that ducklings had fallen into a storm drain and momma duck was circling nearby. Taneytown Police Department Officers and City Crew member John Welty were dispatched to Church Street to assist in the rescue. When Officers and City Crew arrived on scene, Brandi Bollinger, Bobby Bollinger and other community members had already stepped into action and used resources they had to pry open the storm drain. Taneytown Police Department Officers and City Crew member John Welty were dispatched to Church Street to assist in the rescue. When Officers and City Crew arrived on scene, Brandi Bollinger, Bobby Bollinger and other community members had already stepped into action and used resources they had to pry open the storm drain. When they descended into the drain, they were met with a handful of ducklings eager to get out. Eight fluffy ducklings were successfully rescued and reunited with their mother. The quick response and helping hand from the folks at Bollinger Gunsmithing, and bystanders, is a great representation the Taneytown community.
