'Fit in the City' returning to Glens Falls

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Highmark Blue Shield, the YMCA, and the City of Glens Falls are bringing back "Fit in the City" to Crandall Park in Glens Falls. The free summer yoga series is being offered Mondays from June 7 to August 26 from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.

"As a community-based health insurer, Highmark believes that everyone deserves access to healthy activities, and this program provides an opportunity for residents of all ages and abilities to enjoy the benefits of exercise in a fun and welcoming environment,” said Nicky Chlopecki, manager of community affairs for Highmark Blue Shield.

Kim Fitzpatrick, a 200-hour certified yoga instructor with over a 10 years of experience, will lead participants through a variety of yoga styles. In case of rain, the classes will be held at the Glens Falls YMCA in Studio 1. The classes are open to the public.

"The free ‘Fit in the City’ summer exercise program in Crandall Park is an excellent example of what can happen when partners like Highmark, the YMCA, and the City of Glens Falls come together in service of the community,” said Glens Falls Mayor Bill Collins. “And what better place to be on a Summer Monday evening than Crandall Park."
