Hawaiian youths took on state over climate change, and it settled

HONOLULU, Hawaii: Thirteen children and teens in Hawaii are celebrating a settlement in court against the state government that has promised to decarbonize Hawaii's transportation system in the next 20 years.

The settlement reached in Navahine v. Hawaii Department of Transportation recognizes the constitutional rights of children to a life-sustaining climate.

In the lawsuit, the youths stated that Hawaii
