Foreign media outlets have reported that at least 12 people, including the sister of a Hamas political leader, were killed following an Israeli airstrike on the Al-Shati refugee camp in western Gaza.

Anadolu Agency stated that the Israeli army targeted the Al-Shati camp in western Gaza with airstrikes on Tuesday, June 25th.

According to the report, the house where Ismail Haniyeh’s sister resided was also targeted in the airstrike, resulting in the death of one of the sisters of the Hamas political leader.

Meanwhile, Al-Arabiya reported that all victims of this attack (12 killed) were residents of a house where Ismail Haniyeh’s sister lived.

Israeli media, citing Palestinian sources, reported that 13 people, including the sister of Hamas leader, were killed in this attack.

Al Jazeera reported that “Zahra Abdul Salam Haniyeh,” Ismail Haniyeh’s paternal sister, was killed in this attack.

This marks the second time that the Israeli army has targeted members of Ismail Haniyeh’s family. Hamas political leader had lost three of his sons (Hazem, Amir, and Mohammed) along with three of his grandsons in an Israeli bombardment in Gaza in April.

The recent airstrike by the Israeli military that resulted in the death of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh’s sister underscores the ongoing tensions and violence in Gaza.

This incident adds to the volatile situation in the region, where civilian casualties continue to mount amid clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinian factions. The cycle of violence persists despite international calls for de-escalation and efforts to negotiate a lasting peace agreement.
