11-year sentence for importing cannabis

Larnaca’s criminal court has sentenced a 26-year-old to 11 years in prison for importing 17kg of cannabis, police said on Tuesday.

The court heard that 16.752kg of cannabis had been found in luggage that arrived at Larnaca airport in March.

The suitcase was checked and investigations led the police to the 26-year-old, who was arrested and detained.
