I’ve made almost £700 on Vinted in 2 weeks thanks to the item everyone has in the loft but ALWAYS forgets sells so well

A WOMAN who has made almost £700 in just two weeks on Vinted has revealed one of her top sellers that people always forget they have.

Lisa is doing her best to turn £1 into a whole lot more with various side hustles, and has been documenting everything on her TikTok page.

In one of her latest videos, Lisa explained she’s made £682.64 on selling app Vinted in just over a fortnight.

And she said that the main reason she’s been able to turn such a profit is because she’s let go of “more of my own possessions than I have for a very long time”.

A self-described “bit of a hoarder”, Lisa said she made the decision to “go through everything” to sort out bits to sell.

“I went through all of my clothes, all of my shoes, all of my boots, all of my handbags, all of my jewellery,” she added.

“I’ve sold a lot of jewellery.”

And there’s one thing Lisa has found that sells surprisingly well – and it’s something people often don’t realise can bring money in.

“I went through all of my son’s toys and his books as well,” she said.

“I found children’s books have sold really well.”

Overall, Lisa advises going through everything, and getting “everything out of that drawer”.

“Don’t just skim through it,” she added.

“Take everything out of that drawer, take everything out of your wardrobe and go through it piece by piece.

“You’ll be surprised how much that you can find to sell.

“You don’t have to go out and buy stuff to resell.

“You’ve got so many of your own possessions that you can get rid of.

“You’ll be surprised!”

“How I’ve made £682.64 in just over 2 weeks,” Lisa captioned her video.

“I’m doing ok but people drive me daft offering £1.50 on a £3 item,” one person commented on the video.

Do you need to pay tax on items sold on Vinted?

QUICK facts on tax from the team at Vinted...

  • The only time that an item might be taxable is if it sells for more than £6,000 and there is profit (sells for more than you paid for it). Even then, you can use your capital gains tax-free allowance of £3,000 to offset it.
  • Generally, only business sellers trading for profit (buying goods with the purpose of selling for more than they paid for them) might need to pay tax. Business sellers who trade for profit can use a tax-free allowance of £1,000, which has been in place since 2017.

“It’s £3! I end up giving the stuff to charity.”

“So price it higher,” Lisa replied.

“This is one of my top tips – price higher than you want so when people make these offers you’re happy to accept.

“I make so many sales this way!”

“I’m trying to revive my Vinted,” another said.

“I need to be a bit more consistent with listing items.”

“Set yourself a goal to list a certain amount of items a week,” Lisa suggested.
