Nugget and his friend Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladenga) have been taking steroids, while Zack (James Farrar) is suspicious.
He puts up a “drugs test” sign and Denzel freaks out, not aware that it is merely a deterrent.
Later, Nugget goes looking for Denzel after he no-shows.
While searching, Nugget falls ill and heads to No.41 for help, ultimately slumping onto the pavement.
Meanwhile, an oblivious Priya and Nish are inside finalising a ‘deal’, which Priya has rashly made with Nish to secure her family’s future.
This is interrupted when Avani (Aaliyah James) bursts in, saying Nugget’s collapsed.
The teen is rushed to hospital, with family members also heading there to be by his side.
In the waiting room, Dr Miller tells an inconsolable Ravi and Priya that Nugget’s kidneys aren’t working properly.
Dr Miller asks if Nugget has been taking the drugs, which his family refute.
However, Ravi later takes Dr Miller aside to share Zack’s suspicion about steroid usage.
Although Ravi and Priya start arguing about their individual failures as parents, they end up leaning on each other for support.
Priya is shocked when Dr Miller returns to say Ravi was correct – Nugget has been taking steroids.
Although Nugget regains consciousness, his parents are further devastated when doctors say his kidneys aren’t responding and he may require long-term dialysis.
Despite his parents and the police pressing Nugget to reveal who supplied the drugs, he won’t say.
